What an AMAZING start to the year! Mid January I had the privilege of making multiple things for Eric and Kaili's beautiful wedding! It was so fun meeting with the bridesmaids and candle lighters to design their dresses and make what they had envisioned in their minds become a reality.
Starting from top to bottom Kaili's hair flower was custom made with a lot of different textures some of which include Russian tulle, feathers, and beads around the edge of the petals to give accent to the shape
Casey was the Maid of Honor and to designate that a little bit of purple was incorporated into her cutesy/ chic dress. She chose to have a braided collar as an accent on the simple, well fitting dress.
Sarah was the Matron of Honor and her dress also incorporated a little purple to designate that. Her bodice was made out of pleats that formed into a half braid and then into the pleats of the skirt. It was a fun challenge to figure it out and I would love to do it again!
Katherine's dress is all grey, and like the others made out of a poly taffeta. The bodice is made of pleats that form a flattering line around the bust, the skirt drapes nicely with the weighted bottom. The floor length skirt gives this dress a very elegant look
Haylie's dress had a nice ruching quality to it that accents her figure. The ruching twists into a shoulder strap that makes this a classy one shoulder dress.
Gracia's dress has simple, clean lines that remind me so much of Audrey Hepburn. Her high neckline is contrasted nicely with the low back. To accent her waist we added a belt with a soft rose. This dress worked really well for winter-weather because of the scrunched-up sleeves.
Chona's dress was basically a tent with a piece that we wrapped around it to fit her! We did this because we had no time to fit her before the wedding and we had no idea how pregnant she was going to be. The multi-petal flower was placed to accent the waist. This full length dress increased the appearance of her height along with the vertical sash.
Kinsey was a candle lighter and so her dress was in purple. She showed me a dress that she liked on the internet and we tweaked a few things like a bubble hem and a larger sash. The off the shoulder straps really accented her well.
Ellie's dress was also purple. Her design was based off of a chiffon dress that we changed to accommodate the drape of our fabric. The ruched bodice went perfectly with the ruched waist. To add some interest in the back we made the straps criss-cross.
